Dear IPA Subscribers,

We would like to thank you for your submission to International photographer of the year competition. We are very excited to announce that IPA is currently accepting entries for our 2004 competition. The IPA invites professional and nonprofessional photographers to submit their best work before its respected panel of judges. Everyone with a camera and a passion to excel is eligible to compete for the coveted title of International Photographer of the Year and a $10,000 grand prize. All nonprofessional entries will also compete for  the New Discovery Award and a $2,000 cash prize.  


Certificates of excellence will be awarded in the following categories to both professionals and nonprofessionals:

Advertising Photographer of the Year  
Architectural Photographer of the Year  
Editorial Photographer of the Year
Photography Book of the Year (professional only)  
Fine Art Photographer of the Year  
Nature Photographer of the Year  
People Photographer of the Year  
Photographer of the Year in Special Category

During the 2003 IPA competition we received over 6000 entries from 52 countries. Winners of the first annual IPA include Chris Frazer-Smith - UK and Robert Vizzini - USA, awarded the International Photographer of the Year Award and the New Discovery Award, respectively.

The annual International Photography Awards book, which includes the work of the 2003 competition winners is designed by the award-winning art director, Jeff Griffith. This book includes all of the images that were awarded first, second, and third place in both the professional and nonprofessional categories along with a list of the Honorable Mention recipients. It is currently being printed and can be order for discounted pre-publication price now.

Also available is the DVD of the first Lucie Awards Gala Ceremony which made its debut on December 2003 in Los Angeles. With over 600 guest attending, the Lucie Awards Gala was described by PDN as a "major success". The DVD is available for purchase and includes the entire two-hour show and backstage interviews with the honorees, along with mention of all first, second, and third place winners of the 2003 competition.

Chris Frazer-Smith of UK won the International Photographer of the Year and received a check for $10,000
