In just three years the Lucie Awards ceremony has become one of the photography industry's most prominent events.  This year's gala will take place on Monday, October 17, 2005 at the American Airlines Theatre in New York City.

Produced by the International Photography Awards (IPA), the Lucie Awards recognizes outstanding achievement by the world's finest photographers in the following categories: fashion, advertising, portraiture, fine art, photojournalism, sports, documentary, humanitarianism and lifetime achievement.

Pre-Lucie Awards Cocktail Party following the Hasted Hunt Gallery opening for VII Photo Agency

Opening Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the Hasted Hunt Gallery will be the photographs of VII PHOTO Agency's talented roster of photojournalists. The work of award-winning photojournalist James Nacthwey, Lauren Greenfield and this year's Lucie Award Recipient for Outstanding Achievement in Photojournalism, Antonin Kratochvil, will be featured in this groundbreaking exhibition. Directly following the opening, the Lucie Awards will host a Pre-Lucie Awards no-host cocktail hour at a nearby location to be announced.

International Photography Awards hosts the 2005 Lucie Honorees at a Pre-Lucie Awards Brunch, Sunday, October 16th, 2005

IPA will host an exclusive brunch for the 2005 Lucie Award Honorees at Cafe Metropol to which New York local press are also invited to mingle with the honorees in a casual setting. Please email cat@photoawards.com for a press credential to attend this exclusive event.

Post-Lucie Awards Party Hosted by Celebrated Photographer Michael Grecco at Club 40/40 - October 18, 2005 Directly After the Julie Sall Gallery Photography Fundraising Auction for Kids with Cameras.

Tuesday, October 18 from 6 - 9 p.m., Julie Sall Gallery will host the fundraising auction for the organization Kids with Cameras, founded by 2005 Lucie Award Humanitarian Recipient, Zana Briski, for her work with children in India's Calcutta Red Light District. Michael Grecco, one of the participating photographers, will host a Post-Lucie Awards after party directly after the auction at Club 40/40. This event is invite only. The exhibition is open from October 18th through the 22nd and is located at the Julie Saul Gallery on 535 West 22nd Street, 6th floor in New York City.
