The Winners of the 2005 IPA Competition Have Been Posted! The 2005 IPA Competition drew an avalanche of images from around the world--16,648 to be exact! The outpouring of these thousands of photographs from cities, towns and small villages only proves the global power and presence of the still image. As one of the IPA judges, I was overwhelmed by the incredible talent displayed by all who entered, making the task of choosing the 15 professional and non-professional main category winners a Herculean one. The judges will now decide which of the 15 will win the grand title of International Photographer of the Year and which of the seven non-professionals will win the grand title of New Discovery of the Year. Both grand title winners will be announced at the Lucie Awards on October 17th in New York. The International Photographer of the Year Award winner will walk away with a Lucie and a cash prize of $10,000, sponsored by atEDGE. The New Discovery of the Year Award winner will receive a Lucie, a cash prize of $2,000 and a ScanMaker I800, both of which have been provided by Microtek. Thank you one and all for your awesome participation. Click here
