Entry Description: This is a photo of the spectacular flower of Eucalyptus macrocarpa, the largest for any eucalyptus. This particular flower was roughly 4-6 inches in diameter.

I am a PhD student in Ecology and Evolution at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. I use photography as a hobby to balance my scientific side and also for occasional freelance projects. Trained as a photojournalist, I am also interested in alternative processes and nature.
