Pilsner Urquell is honoured to announce a new category in this year’s Pilsner Urquell International Photography Awards.

The philosophy behind the new category
Pilsner Urquell has made it its mission to support and promote photography as a contemporary art form and celebrate its power to inspire people around the world. The new category is a perfect example of this and draws on Pilsner Urquell’s unique story as inspiration.

How it differs
For the first time, photographers are invited to submit the story behind their images as part of their entry. Photographers will be judged on the quality of both their images and stories and their ability to evoke emotion and inspire others.

Most importantly, this is the only category in the competition which gives a Lucie statue and a cash prize to the category winner.

How to enter
Photographers enter in the same way as into any other category of the competition. You may download a PDF entry form or submit online. You will be required to submit a story with your image(s) of no more than 150 words.

The category is open to all photographers, both professional and non-professional.

The winning prize
The winner is chosen from five nominees and receives the Lucie statue, $5000 provided by Pilsner Urquell and the title of International Photographer of the Year – Deeper Perspective
