2. THE 2005 IPA BEST OF SHOW EXHIBITS AT PHOTO SF ON JULY 21 - JULY 23, 2006

3. LEGENDARY PHOTOGRAPHER ARNOLD NEWMAN PASSES AWAY ON JUNE 6 AT THE AGE OF 88.

Arnold Newman, the master of environemntal portaiture, died from a heart attack in a New York hospital on June 6, 2006. Arnold Newman was the recipient of countless awards, including the 2004 Lucie Award for Outstanding Achievement in Portrait Photography.

Newman taught photography at Cooper Union for many years, and the book, "One Mind's Eye," a collection of his finest portraits published in 1974, became a popular coffee-table accessory for many collectors. Other books devoted to his work are "Bravo Stravinksy" (1967), "Artists: Portraits From Four Decades" (1980) and "Arnold Newman's Americans" (1992).

A Special Tribute to his legacy will be conducted at the upcoming Lucie Awards on October 30, 2006.
