10 years ago this lone Kiawe Tree stood deeply rooted into Maui's beautiful coastline. Sadly today, this once beautiful Kiawe now sits bare, decomposing, and submersed under the edge of the sea. Sights like this are all too common in Hawaii. We need to face the fact that Hawaii's beautiful shorelines are being eaten away as sea levels rise from melting glaciers. This picture is one of the few pieces that I have a place on my wall at home, it serves as a constant reminder that there is a global warming problem that we need to address.
