My photo series is inspired by Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement. Ikebana embodies, not only the objective of aesthetic harmony of flowers and plants for display but also is a spiritual process of closeness with nature to achieve inner piece I have adapted the idea of Ikebana in my photo series to represent the harmony of nature. I have employed a nude woman as an analogy for a flower vase and arranged white roses, a symbol of spirituality, with her. I also digitally added the image of jellyfish tentacles. All elements are metaphors: a woman as Mother Earth, roses as beauty from land, the model's bird wing tattoo as a sky creature, and jellyfish tentacles as a sea creature.
