The series is taken in Eastern Germany. It confronts undisguised individuals with an exploited stretch of land which is about to be recultivated after serving its purpose; the creation of energy through mining. The process of brown coal mining is characterised by harsh intervention into nature. These impacts leave their marks in an exhausted ground, while the uniqueness of these landscapes is not only the fact that they were created by human intervention but rather nature`s way of coping with the aftermath of this expoitive invasion. The landscape is finding it`s own, unexpected way of coping with these longstanding interventions, abnormal colour tones and formations can be spotted. The photographs aim to highlight the relationship between humans and nature and the ironic harmony of each other`s emergance. This is the reason why individuals as the "creator" are depicted naked as a sign of vulnerability opposed to nature`s vulnerability and endurance.
