Abandoned Survivalism is a document and chronicle of abandoned buildings found in the Greater Vancouver area; one of Canada's youngest and most prosperous regions. Through the use of photography, Cassandra Marie Hrapchak and Ericsson San Pablo Chu concentrate on the absence of community, and family. The artist's photographs focus on textures that imply age; rusted metals, putrefied materials, amongst others. Hrapchak and Chu are not trying to inspire change; Abandoned Survivalism is about documenting remnants of hope.
