Photography of Volcano Masaya (Nicaragua) also known as "Mouth of hell". The Nickname was given by spanish colonizers who feared it. They put a cross on top of it for protection against Devil and his demons who were thought to inhabit it. Before them Volcano was worshiped by local indigenous population. They used to make human sacrifices by throwing people inside the crater in order to please their gods. Now Volcano Masya is a National Park. It continually emits large amounts of gas and orange glow is created by lava lake inside of the crater.
