Taken while on Patrol in Baghdad Iraq with the 82nd Airborne.
The title "A Moment of Peace" comes from the few minutes we had to rest during the mission that this photograph was taken on. We had been on the move for quite a while when we were able to move into this apartment building and rest. We were reinforcing another unit from out battalion during a major operation. It was not long before we had to move out again. The soldier is a medic attached to my platoon during the operation who sat next to an open door that led into a court yard. We were in the process of setting up security positions when I saw this photograph present itself I just snapped the picture and just kept moving.
