In this series named Elements, I focus my attention on the façade detail of various buildings around the world. In each case, I was drawn to the texture of the structures' exterior and the way they rendered light and shadow. I used the Chinese Elements of water, wood, fire, earth and metal - the five-fold conceptual scheme that many traditional Chinese fields use to explain a wide array of phenomena, to capture the distinct characteristics of each building.
