'Oildorado' is a series of images that explores the oil-certified town of Taft in Kern County, California. Taft's fortunes rise and fall with the highs and lows of the price of a barrel of crude oil. The town is built next to one of California’s major oilfields: The Super-Giant ‘Midway-Sunset’ field, which has produced close to three billion barrels of oil since its discovery. Taft will celebrate its 100th anniversary in October 2010 in a festival known as 'Oildorado'.

'Oildorado' is a series of images that explores the oil-certified town of Taft in Kern County, California. Oil is woven into the very fabric of society, and Taft's fortunes rise and fall with the highs and lows of the price of a barrel of crude oil. The town is built next to one of California’s major oilfields: The Super-Giant ‘Midway-Sunset’ field, which has produced close to three billion barrels of oil since its discovery. Taft was named after William Howard Taft, 27th President of the United States, and will celebrate its 100th anniversary in October 2010 in a festival known as 'Oildorado'.
