Titled "Settled", the series is the artist’s attempt in employing cinematic elements on narrative photography to question how settled we are in our static form. Coming from the movies background, instead of adopting the traditional form of Tableau Vivant, the artist strategically utilizes space and composition, with the manipulation of movie lighting, colors, props, and the positioning of protagonists, to choreograph filmic scenes on single frames of photographs. Through careful manipulation of mise-en-scène and subtle suggestions, clues of the protagonists’ situations are suggested, the unknown is presented rather then the known. The artist explores the themes of isolation and doubt.
