The Cholas ruled much of southern India from around 9th-12th century AD and built several splendid temples, buildings and cities. This arch is a less known specimen of their splendid architectural skills, which now stands forgotten, amidst lush paddy fields next to a beautiful temple the Cholas themselves built.
