The Paul Chester Children's Hope Foundation provides vital assistance to improve the health and well being of families in developing countries. The programs fuel the potential for lasting good, by providing early intervention to children or young adults where services are unavailable due to logistics or financial reasons. The Foundation harnesses the expertise of medical professionals and volunteers to identify opportunities for maximum social impact in the developing world, and then funds and complete the medical or surgical interventions it has identified worthwhile

The PCCHF core base is made up of volunteers, both medical and administrative, who vary from 50-200 in any given year. On the organizational side a small group is made up of 5-7 dedicated individuals who meet regularly to discuss, plan and pilot missions. The medical volunteers coordinate and execute the missions with the assistance of logistics volunteers and in-country counterparts who have requested assistance
I had the privilege to be part of the Paul Chester Children's Hope Foundation on their last two missions, which took place in Ecuador and Colombia. I documented the entire process, including fund-raising events, travel, screening, surgery, recovery and follow-up. My work was needed for promotional and fundraising material.
It was refreshing and enlightening to be a part of something so worthwhile, participating in an endeavor that emphasizes making a social impact.
I would like to continue to document the Foundation's work in the next missions, planned in Africa and South America, focusing on the challenges and dedication of its members.
