Story

García Márquez stated in 1969: "My most important problem was to destroy the line of demarcation that separates what seems real from what seems fantastic. Because in the world that I was trying to evoke, that barrier didn't exist."

I have been living this all my life and am trying to find ways to express it. Here I do so using the theme of Alice in Wonderland.

My work is a study of duality and relationships between elements of the duality: in the finished work, and, as importantly, in the process of creating the work - via Gestalt emergence techniques - by letting the unconsciousness create. I explore collaging of text and images, as well as different 'pallettes' for the text - such as the human body. Here I use the body metaphorically to blur the boundary between body (self) and other - one of the most important demarcations.
