I took these images in the andes in the „atacama“ desert in the northern part of chile. Many truck driver lost there their lives at the border traffic between peru, bolivia and chile, ´cause the brakes of their very, very old trucks get overheat and break down on the long way down of the over 5000 kilometer high andes at this part, or they fall asleep on the endless highway trough those hottest desert of the world – the „atacama“. The southamericans believe that the soul of an dead person lives on at the place where he lost his life, that´s why the family of the casualty built these very individual graves....
