"Waiting For" is about the mysterie around prophecies who warn us for 'the end of the world'. This threatning prospect looks even more sensational when it turns out that we can visualize it on a very realistic way in photographs or film. This seems to be the only way to be prepared on the future. "Waiting for" is a report in which these somewhat excessive events are made visible on a realistic and reflecting way.
Photography has the power to capture the visible truth. This is the main reason why we believe a photo is evidence for anything we didn’t see with our own eyes. At the same time photographs are very easy to manipulate. My work is about this paradox. It often comes with elusive phenomenas which we try to prove and visualize with photos since the invention of photography.
By means of old-fashioned manipulation, so no photoshop, I try to capture these imaginary themes on a realistic way. The manipulation that I apply while making the pictures stays visible in the final result.
