“I live on Ghoramara Island. I lost my house to the [river] Ganges. We are certain that in the near future, our Ghoramara Island will also be under the river. We don't know where we will live in the future.” Shukdev Das (37). Shukdev is a climate refugee in the Sundarban Islands. The Sundarbans islands in India and Bangladesh is a world climate hot spot. Islanders suffer from rising sea levels and incresed strength of cyclones. Ghoramara island for example is only half the size it was 30 years ago.
