My Son was a Cham dynasty capital between the 4th and 12th centuries and is now a World Heritage archaeological site. My Son has the distinctively eclectic architecture of the Champa kingdom, with architectural elements from China and India. Unfortunately, the area was bombed in 1969, hence the crumbling ruins you see in the photo. I headed up to the site on my hired motorbike to get to the site precisely before sunset to capture the beautiful glowing light and shadow on the buildings. Amazingly I was the only one at the site – a moment I will never forget.
