The following series of portraits are my own interpretation of photographs I took of undocumented Haitians migrant workers in the northwest of Dominican Republic. The Jesuits Service for Migrants and Refugees (JSRM) started an ID campaign, in collaboration with the immigration department. I volunteer to help with the portraits. My reason for these re-presentations is to call attention to the plight of these workers who are ignore by the Dominican population, but are an important segment of our economy. I had been cooperating with the JSRM for almost 2 years, documenting the life of the migrants in the region.
