One year after the earthquake rocked Haiti, the children there are still struggling to return to a “normal” life. Even while the term “normal” can always be relative, there are a few comforts in life that most would agree are foundations of a “normal” life. Some of those include clean drinking water, safe bathrooms, adequate food and reasonable medical access. As of December 2010, most of the children of Port Au Prince Haiti are not sharing in these comforts. This photograph were taken in order to raise awareness of the children’s plight one whole year after 2.8 billion dollars have been sent to Haiti, with little progress to be seen. These photos depict the contrast between the accelerated path to adulthood they have been forced down by surroundings and the genuine nature of a child to be a child and smile and love and play.
