More than the physical inability to pause and rest, it is the psychological urge to walk the streets and reclaim the spaces that one walks by as part of the crowd that have inspired me to explore night photography. According to Michel de Certeu, Walking is a kind of 'story', composed of debris...leftovers...frgaments of scattered semantic places...combined with things extra and other 2 And so, I started walking across the streets of Delhi in the dead of the night with my camera. And as the nights progressed I realized that there were many stories emerging. This visual tapestry of the night was not just about my personal reflections but also about the people, the many walkers who had made habitats out of Delhis geography. Nocturnal according to me is a certain kind of mood. It is a means through which I have been able to release and express my creativity. After shooting in the Delhi streets at night for a few days I realized that the city itself suffered from insomnia. It itself is a tired city that is trying to sleep, the constant roar of construction sites and shadowy businesses were like a metaphor for the constant state of chaos in side my head. The city scape at night could be regarded as a reflection of my mind.
