The series Bait shows empty streets and industrial landscapes in New York. The pictures were taken at night, when the hyper energy of the city is replaced by a saturated silence. The colors, the light and sense of isolation set the stage for a fairytale. At the same time, under the magic there is an uncanny element. Operating as a female photographer by herself, Corinne de Korver lets herself be guided by the right mix of danger and magic. When her antenna picks up on that double scenario, she knows she has found the location for her next shot.
