The series of black and white photographs was taken in various zoos from the Balkans to the Wales. the series emphasizes the issue freedom that concerns all beings.

Story

The series of black and white photographs tries to express the
atmosphere of closed spaces, artificially created, found in the
coercive existential environment of a zoo. Through images of fences,
steel bars, and the individual animals residing behind them, I was trying to achieve a unique/peculiar narrative suspense. This can also be
understood metaphorically as the viewer is directed to an
overall/general existential dimension. In terms of technical approach I used a middle format camera that would address the details (different greys) and I have
heightened this with the darker/dim tonality of the whole series in the darkroom.
