I have been traveling across the country re–envisioning Stephen Shore’s Uncommon Places. Stephen, in his early twenties in response to both his parents passing drove across the country for three-ish years making Uncommon Places. My father passed six years ago and after making a body of work titled I’ll Be Seeing You Soon I hoped to address my issues with his passing. This did not work for me, and the body of work remains incomplete. I decided to re-shoot Uncommon Places because maybe by undertaking someone else’s answer I could find my own answer and hopefully achieve peace.
