As the final drops of moisture are squeezed from the atmosphere, the seasonal pans have emptied and the food sources diminished, Hwange's elephant population await the rains. In this arid landscape of North West Zimbabwe, their journey between the last remaining water sources and feeding grounds push their large frames to the limits. As the herds come to quench their thirst, they appear as ghostly silhouettes through the parched and dusty sands of the Kalahari.
