Before January 12, 2010, there were over 10,000 humanitarian and charity organizations in Haiti. Billions of dollars of donations later, the international presence is stronger than ever. Yet six months after the earthquake, 90% of the rubble still was not removed and women and children were being raped on a nightly basis, across the street from the government palace. One is left to wonder: Are the voices of Haitians being heard? Are their needs being met? This series pairs nighttime portraits of orphans from one of Haiti's thousands of orphanages, with images of destruction from the center of Port-au-Prince.
