While making pictures in abandoned areas of the city, I am trying to hide myself away from the city noise, to escape from the concrete jungle. Once, while wandering around “listening to my eyes”, I managed to notice the internal movements and changeability in nature. Later on, I paid attention to the interaction between things left or thrown away by people — traces of human activity — and bushes, trees, grass, water…
IMPLICIT MOVEMENT
«When man becomes reconciled to nature, when space becomes his true background, these words and concepts will have lost their meaning, and we will no longer have to use them».
Michelangelo Antonioni
While making pictures in abandoned areas of the city, I am trying to hide myself away from the city noise, to escape from the concrete jungle. Once, while wandering around “listening to my eyesâ€, I managed to notice the internal movements and changeability in nature. Later on, I paid attention to the interaction between things left or thrown away by people — traces of human activity — and bushes, trees, grass, water… Exploring the artifacts of human presence which are melting into the environment, I am trying to capture the fragments of existence. Is it possible to visualize nature’s out-of-sight reaction on our actions? Is it possible to recognize the metaphysics of nature in the landscape around us? These are the issues that seem interesting to me and that motivate me to continue working on the project.
