The relationship between the artist and his/her subject at the moment of creation is invisible, "seen" and felt even by the artist only deep in the interior. I seek to evoke an "unseen" bond or tie between the artist and their work by photographing them at their show opening, with no pre-arrangements. I ask the artist to choose a position and close their eyes, thinking about the work while I photograph. This lets me embed the artist into their work via whatever narrative and feeling the situation fires in me as I move about finding the position for myself as well. To me and those involved, this series is revelatory.
