Images taken from the series Photo For Freedom- Volta. In 2011 Tom Goldner conducted a photographic study in the African country of Ghana. Children as young as three years old are sold to work in the fishing communities along the Lake Volta region. This form of child labour is modern day slavery. Children are forced to work up to 14 hours a day either on the lake or as domestic servants. Tom travelled to the remote regions of Lake Volta to document the communities and work to raise awareness and funds to help stop child slavery in Ghana.
