Minamisoma city became suddenly well known after the mayor of the city, Katsunobu Sakurai appealing a isolated situation because of radiation from Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant on YouTube Minamisoma city is in eastern part of Fukushima prefecture. The coastal side of Minamisoma city was totally devastated by Tsunami. The city hall is just 25 km from Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant and about one quarter of the district is designated as a evacuation zone. To fear the radiation, the residents have evacuated to other place, so the population have fallen into half. Minamisoma city is blessed with the bounty of nature. Minamisoma city lies on the coast of Pacific Ocean on the east and central part of it is plains and western side of it is mountain, so there are fishers, farmers, stock farmers and so on. People in the city would live in the nature and would be lived by nature. They spent a simple life, but rich life for food and nature. Their lifestyle is the good old day for most of Japanese. I went to Minamisoma city about a month later from the earthquake.I took photo of the people surviving the earthquake and Tsunami and I took photo of the people living under the fear of the radiation, but never surrender to live there. They don`t say much and they are patient, so I shot them to document their existence. I always asked their pride before shooting and I shot them at the place relating to it. I did it because their pride in this critical situation last forever and it will support them in the future.
