Inspiration is the transient world around me. The result ranges from sensitive portraits to still lifes of dead animals. A game with decay, but also with the lightness in it. Aesthetics in death and life. The slow rhythm of the photos is typical. The world seems apparently still in the frame, while the captured object is just about to disappear. Although the images are often staged, they seem to create the appearance of still lifes. That what is depicted is paradoxically eminently corruptible. Whether children, animals or plants, the object changes while I'm working on it. I play with the tension between timelessness and temporality.
