As a mother I go back and forth between baby bottles, being a sexy woman, playing with dolls, flirting, reading bedtime stories and trying to be whoever I was and still am. And all this I tried to capture in one image.
Elke Jaarsma-Blom (1974) just recently discovered her passion for the art of photography. For photographing the beauty that surrounds us. Making images that make you want to look at them over and over again. Images that tell a story. Images that make you feel. So she got herself a fancy camera, found someone to explain how it works and started to look at the world differently. Although earth offers us some gorgeous places, she finds the real beauty lies in humans. "They make everything more interesting". So humans it is. You will find these creatures in almost all of her work. Elke wants to become a world famous, highly celebrated photographer but she never loses her sense of reality nor her sense of humour. Probably her life saver.
