Portrait of Home takes an introspective look at otherwise banal objects lying around inside a person's home. This series visits different homes of friends and acquaintances with stories to tell. Here, home is personified and takes on a life of its own from the owner's personal belongings. This collection of knicks knacks - old toys, plants, clothes, movie posters etc - have either been repeatedly used, caringly preserved or casually forgotten with the passage of time. Beyond the objects' transient exteriors, the photos seek deeper answers from subtle details. What are the owner's habits? What does she like to collect? Is he a neat person? Does he care for his plants? What was her childhood like? What is his hobby? Does she still reminiscence about the past? How does he view himself? Inside the home, the photographer becomes both observer and explorer. With each discovery, old objects take on new meanings and the owners' personalities are gradually uncovered.
