'Pacu Jawi' or bull racing is held in between each rice harvesting and planting season in the villages of Tanah Datar, West Sumatera, Indonesia. The jockey’s hands hold on the bulls’ tail and their feet rest on a harness strapped to the bulls. The jockey can bite the tail of the bull to make it go faster. The winners are not judged by the speed of the bull, but judged on the intensity and style of the jockey and bulls during the run and also their ability to entertain the villagers.
