Fireworks emit various levels of light and have extreme differences in their peak position in the sky, and the size of their combustion is unpredictable. After a while of photographing fireworks they all started to look very similar and I wanted to find a way to make my results a bit more interesting. I averaged the time that it took for each firework to reach its peak height before exploding, and then manually focused on the center of most of the explosions. I held the shutter open for two seconds and zoomed out slightly while slowly turning the focus ring in two gradual steps.
