In this series, I have combined my two lifelong passions - history and photography - to produce works of art that emulate some of the great master painters of the Renaissance and Baroque eras. My goal was to capture the romance and drama that is so often portrayed in historic art and produce images that I could visualize hanging in England’s finest castles of centuries past. I achieved this by using rich tones and textures, authentic props, and Chiaroscuro – a high contrast lighting technique. Finally, I used children as models which give the photographs a sense of intrigue and wonderment.
