Preservation Napa Valley chose Bessie Wong, along with 11 others, to be a part of an exhibition honoring their contribution to the history of the Napa valley. Bessie and her husband owned a turkey ranch and Bessie was a homemaker. She is very shy about her role in their lives and feels she didn't contribute much. But in reality her role was pivotal, she provided the meals, the child care, the garden tending and at night her kitchen turned into a darkroom. Her life now is quiet and uneventful but when she told me her stories I could see the joy she once felt.
