Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava’s Quadracci Pavilion at the Milwaukee Art Museum is as close as one can get to a contemporary Gothic cathedral. Featuring Windhover Hall at the main entrance, this wonderful atrium is filled with pointed arches and a central nave with a 90-foot-high glass roof. The atrium is surrounded by the Baumgartner and Schroeder Gallerias providing the visitor with a breathtaking experience while overlooking Lake Michigan. My 5 panel aspires to convey the sense of openness, cleanliness and serenity that this wonderful atrium projects. Without a doubt an inspiring piece of contemporary architecture and an architectural photographer's dream.
