The Cathedral of Saint John The Divine is an impressive, often overlooked, sight of New York city. I am not a religious individual despite actually being named after Saint John The Divine (John of Patmos) and having grown up on the aforementioned Greek island. My visit to the cathedral coincided with the imminent arrival of hurricane Sandy which is why it was so quiet that day. I took my time setting up my shot and decided on a HDR approach. The grainy monochrome post processing is an attempt at reducing distractions and drawing focus down the centre of the image.
