This work questions the way in which one’s experience and relationship with the natural environment can enable physical, psychological and spiritual growth. Created in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam these images focus on the spiritual and healing properties of water, particularly the way in which it moves, rests and pauses within its natural setting. The intention of the resulting photographs is to transport the viewer into a therapeutic and contemplative state, one of silence, stillness and solitude. These experiences exist within a long history of removing and isolating oneself from ‘society’ in order to repair the mind, soul and physical body.
