Life is hard in this corrugated tin village set amid macadamia and coffee plantations in Guatemala. The Coyan family lives here with 9 kids and grandma. Usually there is only one meal per day. Over 50% of Guatemala lives in poverty. And with the demand for biofuel, much of the land is growing corn to transport to the U.S. for fuel vs staying in Guatemala for food.
