This series began as a fasination with these metal structures, a record of Hong Kong’s street culture and social economic development, and a recognition of the stall owner’s truly “Form Follows Function” creativity. In our constantly evolving city, many of these street stalls and their owners are disappearing due to city redevelopment. I want people to recognise the beauty in these little metal shops, and the generations of vendors that have been on the streets of Hong Kong for over a hundred years.
