The architecture of Detroit is an eclectic mix, formed by a variety of materials and textures reflecting individuality. This mirrors the unique qualities of individuality--change, variety, and psychological evolution. I see similarities between human development and the evolution of personal residences in Detroit. I photograph houses as stand-in portraits of particular stages of human development.
