This is my latest photographic challenge about narrative through a woman with depression. And it is also a challenge against the social perceived notion.

Story

She lives in a town 25 minutes away from the great city Shinjuku by train. She doesn't like to live in populated area because of she needs space or blank in her eyesight. Her room is located near a river. Her hometown has heavy snow every winter. She doesn't like snow. She likes birds and cats. Also she likes drawing. She has depression and is taking medicine to deal with it. And she loves her mother very much.

In 2010, she fell into sick seriously. She quit her job. And I started take photo about her.
In-between common sense, depression is regarded unwelcome basically. There are many troublesome problems. In Japan, many people die by suicide every year. And depression is regarded one of the biggest factor of suicide. But to photograph about her, all of general information about sickness is basically useless.

Afterward, I attempted to collect the elements around her personality. Despite a very slight affinity to the outer world of her, it seems quite useful more than thousands of general information to know where she is included. When we see something, we see it efficiently. It is very quick reasonable interpretation. But it is not always perfect. Photographs never care about our efficiency.
