Funerals in this town take three days. Two days are dedicated to ceremonies and rituals, and the last day is the burial. Two funerals were happening on this day. We woke up at six in the morning to get to the road. I saw her for the first time in two years, the last time too. Her skin was orange and wax-like. I didn’t know how to perceive this because it was so surreal. When my emotions finally kicked in, all I wanted was to hug her; but I couldn’t because she was too fragile.
