The Chinese Ghost Festival take place on the 7th month of the Chinese calendar. During the time, Chinese Opera are being performed at night time in a traditional temporary bamboo stage to praise the charitable and pious deeds of the deities. In Hong Kong, these artists are usually invited from some rural town of mainland China, due to the fading number of Chinese opera artist. Because of limited budget, they usually live at the backstage during the week length performance period, creating an interesting community behind the scene.
